“One of the problems in our churches today is that we have too many celebrities and not enough servants.” It’s true. Christians tend to idolize other Christians who are getting attention and fame. We think it looks good to be the leader who gets to give orders. We want to be the one writing the books, speaking at conferences, or getting our songs played on the radio. But that’s not the picture of Christianity that Jesus gives us. Mark 10:45 quotes Jesus Himself as saying, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Why do we think we are exempt from serving others? Are we too busy? Are we too important?
Christians, do you want a practical way to be living out your faith this week? Follow the example of Jesus, and love your neighbor by serving them. Look for ways to give of your time, talents, and resources so that others will see Jesus.
And please know that RCF is here to serve; so let us know how we can serve you or pray for you this week!
